TLIF2010 - Apply fatigue management strategies


This course provides the skills and knowledge required to individuals to identify and act on signs of fatigue within the workplace and more specifically the transport and logistics industry.  The Fatigue Management Strategy Course will equip individuals with the skills to implement appropriate strategies required to minimise fatigue during work activities, in particular when operating equipment, trains, vehicles, load shifting equipment, marine vessels and aircraft.

This course is undertaken in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, codes and guidelines.

Course Durations

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 5 Hours

There are no entry requirements for this course

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

This certificate does not require renewal

Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include: 

Performance tasks:

  • Implement strategies to minimise fatigue

Case Studies: 

  • Change of roster
  • Work in a team

Theory assessment â€“ A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.

Students are required to complete a self evaluation against the following core skills as part of the enrolment process. This will allow your trainer to understand any additional support that may be required during the course delivery and assessment.
Learning I can take on new information about safe work habits and use it to manage my own wellbeing and safety.
Reading I can read and understand simple workplace policies, signs, and instructions about managing fatigue.
Writing I can record information like break times or signs of fatigue in a simple form or log.
Oral Communication I can talk with others about fatigue risks and ask for support or clarification if I’m unsure.
Numeracy I can use time and numbers to plan breaks and track how long I’ve been working or resting.
